Investing in the Future

“The Wright Brothers created the single greatest cultural force since the invention of writing. The airplane became the first World Wide Web, bringing people, languages, ideas and values together.” – Bill Gates

A client shared that time spent onboard their aircraft tended to include multi-generational family members traveling together en-route to destinations around the world. Discussion ensued about the importance of passing down values and life lessons to their younger generation and how to relate in such a fast paced, technologically advanced society.

During a daily walkthrough of our facility, inspiration struck on how to create a unique and meaningful opportunity for the patriarch of this family to share tradition, insight, and skill, as well as pass down information and thinking strategy without having to compete with technology.

Utilizing the ribbon striped, quartered sycamore wood veneer and incorporating strips of the coordinating leather featured throughout the cabin, we handcrafted a one-of-a-kind, heirloom chess game for the family to play while at 40,000ft.

Chess pieces fashionably fit inside a custom drawstring pouch, made from remnants of the cozy, chenille aft cabin divan. The ability to pass down skill, share the virtue of patience and engage in valuable teaching opportunities that would impact future generations became a beautiful reality in such a creative and memorable way for this aircraft owner and his family.
